News from the Board: Nash subdivision: Nothing new to report on the progress at this time. We would like to extend our best wishes for a speedy recovery to Ron. Clubhouse renovations: This is a really exciting time for our club and the project is on schedule at this point for a June 1st completion date. There are various volunteers still putting in lots of time making decisions on lighting, electrical, furnishings and finishes and we appreciate their help. We hope to have some pictures posted on the website this month of the progress. House/Membership/Social Committee: Welcome to all the new members that have joined over the last few months! It’s exciting to see a bunch of new faces join our club, so please take a minute to introduce yourself if you see a new face. The Ladies Organization has their annual Easter egg hunt planned for April 3rd at Greens Committee: Course cleanup and preparation is right on track. The crew is way ahead of schedule thanks to the favorable weather. They have verta-cut and mowed the greens already and they are shaping up nicely. The work day is planned for April 10th with a scramble to follow, we have not finalized projects yet, but as always there is a lot to be done this Spring. Thanks to the volunteers that trimmed all the trees between #1 Green and #2 Tee Box. I apologize for not having the list of everyone that helped on that project, but I’m pretty sure it was Jeff Trotter, Dave Fratzke, Craig Braseth and a few others. Thanks guys! With the nice weather we’ve had a lot of play on the course already. There has been concern about not moving tee markers. They are leaving them in one spot until we get active growth, that way we will only have one spot to fix, rather than the entire tee box. Please remember to use the sand and seed bottles and fill in any divots that you find. Also, please remember to repair your ball marks on the greens. The more we do as members to take care of the course, the less maintenance cost we have and it leads to a better golfing experience for everyone. Final word from the President: I would like to thank all members for their positive comments and patience during the renovation. This is huge step in improving our club and personally I feel this will be something that our club will be proud of for years to come. I know there was some skepticism when we made the decision to move forward, but from what has already been accomplished and from what we have found in deterioration to the club, it is obvious that this project was needed. There is a lot left to do, but once the project is complete we will be planning a celebration/ribbon cutting so look for more information on that in the next few months. Once again, thanks to all that have helped out on the project so far! Thanks….Clint Williams |
