News from the Board January 2010: The board meeting was held on January 20th with an Executive Session immediately following the regular board meeting. Members present, Bill Anhorn, Mike Moeller, and Berkley Summers. Welcome new Ladies Association 1st Vice President Carol Summers.
Nash subdivision: Nothing new to report on the progress at this time. We would like to extend our best wishes for a speedy recovery to Ron.
Clubhouse renovations: The board has approved pursuing the clubhouse remodel. A communication letter was sent to every member which all of you should have received by now. Currently Scott Noble, Russ Scott and I are heading up the process and we will continue to update the membership as the project proceeds.
House Committee: Most of you are probably already aware that we have discontinued the Bar Manager position and Lisa Hill will be taking on those duties as was the original intent when she was hired as the Club Manager. Currently we intend to staff the club with our existing staff until at least the middle of March. We are confident that this change was made in the best interest of the membership and we would like to acknowledge Rhonda for her service. We would request that the membership be patient as we make this transition and understand that the food service is going to change for the next few months until we are confident that we can manage it properly.
Greens Committee: Recently we removed some trees behind #6 Green and along the creek between hole #6 and below the deck. Those trees were rotten and needed to be removed. The only cost to the club for the removal will be repairing the grass and the cleanup. The trees were taken down and removed as part of a stream rehabilitation project for fish habitat. We’ve been fortunate to have such a mild winter, but we would please ask that golfers continue to respect the course; do not play when below 40, use carts only when approved to do so and stay off the greens unless open for play. Damage that is done in the winter makes it harder for us to prepare the course for play in the Spring. Also, please do not practice on the course by hitting a number of practice balls from a certain location, the divots torn up in the fairway will be slow to recover. We will be scheduling some work days this Spring and as always we truly appreciate the volunteers that help us get our course ready for play.
Final word from the President: 2010 is going to be an exciting year for the club and like most of us that enjoy to golf; I’m looking forward to warmer weather. We have a lot of work ahead of us over the next months to complete the renovation and get the course ready for play and as always we will be looking for volunteers to help out. We had a very successful 2009 and we are looking forward to even greater things this year.
Thanks….Clint Williams
