to the LA GRANDE COUNTRY CLUB
The La Grande Country Club was established around 1921and is a private club with a clubhouse, nine hole golf course, two tennis courts, driving range and two chipping/putting practice greens.
The Golfing facilities are managed by a PGA golf professional. Private and group lessons are available as well as a full line of golfing merchandise.
The clubhouse contains a full service beverage bar with snacks/sandwiches. The facility also contains a large meeting/dining area with a full kitchen. This facility is rentable to the public as well as members.
The club hosts many events throughout the calendar year - i.e. Northeast Oregon Junior Golf Tournaments, The Ladies Masters Golf Tournament, The La Grande Elks Golf Tournament, Tuesday Nights Couples Golf, Thursday Nights Men's Golf League, The Two-Man Best Ball Golf Tournament, The Grande Ronde Amateur, as well as many social events for members.
In 2008, the club will re-introduce a very active JUNIORS program. The purpose of this program is to promote golf for ALL kids in
La Grande between the ages of 6-17. (See Jrs-Srs tab for more details.)

Clubhouse closes 1 1/2 hours past sunset unless a special function is scheduled or there is inclement weather.

OGA was here on May 7th to check the courses rating. This is something they do to member courses every few years. They checked yardages, hazards, etc. and then played the course. We will be hearing back from them in a few weeks for their assessment. Whether the course rating will be changing is up to them. However, if it does change, then handicaps will change also.
